Salicylic Acid Foliar Application Increases Crop Yield and Quality Parameters of Green Pepper Fruit during Postharvest Storage

The main aim of this study was to evaluate the effect salicylic acid (SA) as a preharvest treatment on crop yield throughout cycle green pepper fruit well its quality parameters, including functional quality, at harvest and during 21 days storage 7 °C. Thus, ‘Herminio’ plants were treated with SA 0.5, 1 5 mM, higher (kg per plant, number fruits plant average weight) parameters (firmness, color total acidity) obtained 0.5 mM dose, greater phenolic compounds content antioxidant activity. These traits also maintained levels for than in controls postharvest storage, leading delay losses. In addition, decay incidence SA-treated reached ca. value 2% end which lower untreated (16.6%). results suggest that application low doses tested could be useful tool increase maintain them delaying losses incidence.
